Auke Jan HulskerAuke Jan Hulsker

Auke Jan Hulsker is a leading authority in implementing reporting and risk solutions for the financial services industry. Auke Jan started his career at KPMG Consulting in 2002 and gained experience in implementing reporting solutions for customers such as Achmea, De Lage Landen, AEGON and Ahold.

In 2006, Auke Jan started his own company and worked as a controller for several years. During these years, Auke Jan gained in-depth knowledge of reporting, banking and insurance. The acquired knowledge proved invaluable in Auke Jan's current role as a pioneer in CPM software design for the financial services industry.

In 2012, Auke Jan has designed and implemented the first fully integrated reporting environment for Solvency II, financial statements and management reporting at TVM Verzekeringen. The success of this project motivated a number of Dutch insurance companies such as Menzis, DSW, Generali and ZLM to adopt Auke Jan’s strategic vision on how to deal with the challenge of reporting Solvency II.

Today, Auke Jan is a frequent speaker on seminars and round table meetings. As a trusted advisor, Auke Jan publishes in business press and provides advice on reporting matters to many Dutch banks and insurance undertakings. Sofia is the initiative of Auke Jan Hulsker.

Richard PlooijerRichard Plooijer

Richard Plooijer is an experienced project and interim manager with over 20 years of experience in the banking and insurance industry. His background is business administration. Richard has acquired his insurance knowledge and experience with insurance companies in the Netherlands and abroad. The assignments that he held for these insurers include the (automated) filling of the future financial and actuarial reports to the supervisor.

To achieve this he:

  • Analyzed the information necessary to meet the Solvency II reporting requirements
  • Designed a data model to be able to automate the future financial and actuarial data flows
  • Made flow-charts to fill the future financial and actuarial reports to the National authorities
  • Gert VerbaasGert Verbaas

    Gert Verbaas is an experienced (20+) interim manager/consultant in a large range of national and international companies. Besides insurance, these companies include Oil & Gas, consumer products (FMCG), transport and business services.

    Gert has gained specific experience in Solvency II projects in relation to Reporting (QRT's), SCR calculations (QIS studies) and Governance, Risk and Assurance, including data quality assessments in source systems/cash flow models.

    Together with his audit background (EY), Gert is experienced in financial management roles in relation to financial reporting, planning & control, consolidation and shared services center as well as project management in several assignments in relation to reporting, processes and IT.

    Senior Enterprise Performance Management Manager, Consultant and Trainer. Experienced in transforming and improving consolidations, budget and forecast processes as well as KPI or other operational information collection processes.

    Rob Bieshaar has operated in the Enterprise Performance Management market for 30 years. Rob started his career as a controller, but soon saw the opportunities that software and consulting of EPM solutions could bring to organizations.

    Rob has been highly successful as a sales consultant and business manager by always putting customer and quality first.10 years ago Rob started to focus on the Financial Services industry which is now going through a tremendous change.

    Since 2011 Rob has operated as an independent lead consultant for EPM, focusing besides technology on the organizational impact & changes needed to make these solutions work. Rob is interested in how EPM, Customer Intelligence and Predictive Business Analytics coalesce to a more customer oriented Financial Services Industry in the future.

    Johan FleurenJohan Fleuren

    Johan Fleuren has 30 years experience in the financial service industry as a business analyst, information manager and software designer. Johan's core competence is to translate complex and comprehensive business needs to understandable proportions in order to advice, design, develop, test and implement effective ICT solution in an efficient way.

    During the last 6 years he mainly worked in the financial and risk reporting domain within insurance companies, investment banks, as well as at the Dutch Central Bank (DNB). Within the area of Solvency II, Johan has designed and implemented software components for the entire data processing chain, making use of datawarehouse technology, calculation engines, ETL tooling and sophisticated reporting tools like Tagetik.

    Johan has extensive experience within international project environments and multicultural project teams.
