The Challenge
With the new regulations such as CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and the SEC Climate Disclosure Rule on the horizon, the company needed a unified, automated approach to:
- Comply with evolving regulatory requirements
- Establish a group-wide operating model for sustainability reporting
- Create a single source of truth for non-financial data
- Connect sustainability data across multiple business units
- Automate and assure the end-to-end reporting process
- Ensure audit-ready accuracy and assurance
The Solution
The company launched its Sustainability Reporting Program in partnership with CCH® Tagetik and Sofia Consulting to build a fully integrated, automated reporting ecosystem. The foundation of this transformation was the implementation of CCH Tagetik ESG & Sustainability Performance Management for CSRD, seamlessly integrated with the existing CCH Tagetik CPM and Solvency II solutions. Together, the teams designed a three-layer architecture that connected source systems, a sustainability data platform, and CCH Tagetik’s SaaS-based CSRD solution. This created one source of non-financial truth — with automated workflows, approvals, and audit-ready data collection.
The Journey
The program followed a structured roadmap:
- 2021: Project initiation, governance, and regulatory analysis
- 2022: Double materiality assessment and target operating model definition
- 2023: System selection and data directory design
- 2024: System implementation and transition to business-as-usual
- 2025: Achieve limited assurance on the CSRD-aligned integrated annual report.
Over 300 users across the global entities now rely on CCH Tagetik solutions for sustainability reporting.
